Description
Persian Gulf Sceneries is a series of hand-pulled monoprints. Each sheet is a different scene from the same coastline: the water, the sun and the bodies that move between them.
Leap into the Sun catches the body in mid-air. A huge sun turns in rings of yellow and gold above, and below it a figure spreads its arms and drops toward the sea, every limb drawn in fast cobalt marks. You can see the drag of the roller and the layering of ink straight from the plate.
Each print is pulled by hand in Berlin. The plate never gives the same image twice, so this is a unique work, not a reproduction. Signed by hand.
